Quality Metrics
With MDComp, you are able to easily track quality metrics for providers.
First, let us cover some terminology.
Quality Metric Category, or Metric Category. This is the highest level of categorization for metrics. A Metric Category can contain one or more Metric Sets. For example, the Metric Category may be Primary Care Metrics, and would contain Metric Sets that are associated with Primary Care Services. Metric Categories can be linked to individual or groups of providers. Metric Categories can be representative of Payer Incentives, Specialty, Location or Provider Group as appropriate to match the contract.
Metric Set. A set of measures that are related or consistently measured or reported together. For example the Metric Set within the Primary Care Metric Group might be Preventative Services Metrics. Metric sets can have established reporting periods and thresholds that are applied to the entire group.
Metric Bonus. The bonuses tied to this Metric Set. There can be one or many. The Cumulative Score is the total score needed to reach the Bonus value for a given Metric Set.
To get started, we must create our first quality metric category. Let’s start with a basic setup - creating a Quality Metric Category with only one Metric Set.
